Great local eatery and brewery!
Love this place for good old American and Italian fare; they adapt to contemporary tastes and their beer is ABSOLUTELY to die for! Their tomato soup and pizzas are the BEST around--we wish they delivered pizzas because we'd definitely order pizza more often! Great place, great ambience! Also--it's CLEAN--and classy--the bathrooms have Moen faucets--yay!    [03 Sep 2004 23:39:58]

great food, poor beer
This is one of my favorite places for lunch in Bloomington. The food is consistently well-prepared and enjoyable. The service is exceptional and the atmosphere is pretty upscale for a lunch place. It has a dark, cool lounge feel that is a great escape in the middle of hectic summer workday. I have to warn against the beer - watery, palid, with very little character. It tastes much like homebrew, which certainly has it's place, but a brewmeister should be more skilled. The food makes it worth coming anyway though.    [03 Mar 2006 10:33:02]

Not sure what a "brewmeister" is, but perhaps the previous reviewer drinks a great deal of Meister Brau and was understandably confused. BBC puts out solid brew....someone who would nail them for characterless beer is either a Belgian monk or an overly harsh critic. Ruby and Quarrymen varieties will not let you down.

Food is very consistent if not varied, yet always a little on the expensive side for what you get. I think this is by design due the relatively limited seating. It is always packed which makes it a bit on the loud side.    [25 Mar 2008 23:40:37]
