Best fast food chinese in Bloomington!
I have been a fan of the Phoenix Dumpling for the past three years. Pound for pound, it's the cheapest food in Bloomington. I can't find another restaurant where you get more food for the money. Amy, the always friendly, smiling owner, piles the food high.
All dishes contain no MSG, but she can add it upon request. Certain basic dishes are pre-made, but a wider menu is available being made to order. The food is cooked in front of you.
Once I asked for just broccoli with a clear garlic sauce. This was not on the menu, but what I was in the mood for. Amy threw it together, and it was delicious.
The Phoenix Dumpling is an addictive restaurant. I know people who go there two to three times a week for lunch, and wouldn't consider going anywhere else. It's the type of place where you can walk in and order 'the usual' and the ever present Amy remembers what you like.    [23 Oct 2001 21:55:45]
